Well, posting to this list is the right place to reach fans, I would
say. :-)

I did explain how I heard about the Corrs in my own intro email, but
likely most people didn't see it so I'll just repost that paragraph
here.
I have a friend who I know from chatting on IRC (Internet Relay Chat),
who lives in Australia. Sometime in spring of 1997 she told me of how
she liked this band, the Corrs. I'd never heard of them, but based on
her description of the music I was somewhat interested. She told me
that they were rather popular there, and that she was going to go see
them in concert too. Eventually she offered to send me a tape too!
So, a few weeks later I got a tape in mail from her (it was the
Forgiven, Not Forgotten album), and I listened to it in the car.. Only
a week later I went to a music store and bought my own copy of the album
on CD!
I can't say exactly why I liked it at first... It must have been that
unique combination of Irish traditional music and poppish sound. I
think that a violin and drums is an excellent combination.

Well, it's not doing bad, but not overly good either. One of the big
record stores over here (in Finland) does have a whole section of "Irish
music" which could be seen as a good sign (I definitely think so).
Celtic music in general is less prominent than just Irish music.

Yes, I do. Though I generally prefer more rock/pop style music, I do like
Celtic/Irish music and especially when it's mixed with other styles.
> Do you like the Corrs because of "pop" songs or "traditionnal" songs?
Both. I suppose perhaps just a bit more emphasis on the "pop" songs, but
I do thoroughly enjoy the traditional songs as well.
