Well, Peter's answered that one. I was a little confused as to why
it was the case myself before he enlightened us. :) I was in Calif.
over Christmas, and luckily bought a copy of the album to bring to a
friend I met, rather than waiting to hopefully get it cheaper in the
States!
BTW...
I'm the other person (other than Mikko) involved in setting up this
(Mikko tells me 'growing' -- I haven't had a second free recently
to check up on things) list. :) Theoretically we're both adminning
the list, but Mikko will probably end up doing almost all of it, as
he has more time than me.
I was the person Mikko visited in Dublin in order to go to the concert,
and I'm very glad he did or I probably wouldn't have heard about the
concert in time to get tickets (it sold out quite a while ahead). The
concert was absolutely brilliant. It was the best concert I've ever been
to. The group are great performers, especially Andrea. They didn't just
stand there and sing. They responded to the audience, and were obviously
enjoying themselves as much as we all were. The two we managed to
catch (by means of waiting around the stage door for ages like sad
b&*$ards ;) were very nice about giving autographs (Andrea &
Caroline!). :) :)
Anyhow, to continue Mikko's idea of introducing ourselves... I'm a
student in Trinity College Dublin, doing 3rd year Computer Science
(although I had a 2 year misguided stint as a Scientist <g>) and
thoroughly enjoying it. I also work (at the weekends) at Indigo, and
Irish ISP (Internet Service Provider) on the Helpdesk doing
telephone technical support. The combination of college and Indigo
means I have almost no free time, but I prefer to be ridiculously
busy than sitting wondering what to do!
I came across the Corrs shortly after they released FnF in Ireland
and they started to be played quite a bit on the radio, became quite
popular, etc. I enjoyed the album a lot, and when Mikko told me
about the new album (I was too busy with college / work to notice
anything short of a direct nuclear hit! =), I went out and bought
it. I thought it was even better than the first, so was very
receptive to the idea of going to a concert when he suggested it.
In the tradition of 'net old-timers (not _real_ old-timers... I just
mean anyone who isn't a product of the last couple of years of the
'net becoming a mass medium -- I started off on the 'net about 4.5
years ago when, in Ireland, practically nobody but college students
and staff knew it existed) I'm slightly eccentric at times, but
then, who isn't?
Anyway, I've got a Cache simulation project to finish for Friday
week, and there's a lot of work to be put in on it, so I'd better go
now. Sla/n!
Regards,
Stephen.
